Sandy Baker’s recent mini-tour of Michigan saw throngs of collectors and enthusiasts turn up to meet and talk with their favorite jewelry designer. Long-time supporters and new aficionados attended events in Lansing and Okemos, purchasing designs for themselves and as gifts. Some even requested that Sandy personally sign their gift cards, which she happily obliged.

The first event was at Katalyst, part of the “First Friday” monthly festival in the Old Town section of Lansing, Mich. Sandy thrived in the gallery setting, which encouraged personal interactions and conversations with her fans. She got to hear first-hand what they loved and what they wanted to see more of, and walked away with one overriding thought: There are some stylish women in Old Town! While there, she also took the time to cruise the campus of Michigan State University and visit the surrounding area, where she found color inspirations in the rich range of the abundant Fall foliage.

The Mole Hole of Okemos, her next stop, celebrated 30 years of success carrying Sandy Baker Jewelry. The SBJ collection was presented in a freestanding island display, perfect for the steady flow of clients and collectors, and a special raffle of Sandy’s Favorite Things kept attendees excited. Prizes included a CD of music by Brazilian songstress Virginia Rodrigues, a Sandy Baker canvas bag and a limited edition SBJ brooch, as well as other items that make Sandy smile. The tour’s resounding success makes her look forward to other mini-tours around the nation.
